We believe in the dream of a better world, and the responsibility to go build it.

Moniker started as an experiment among a group of friends. We were a collection of dreamers, artists, and makers. We wanted to design things that were unique and inspiring, but we weren’t interested in building just another business. Instead, we were fascinated by potential, possibility, and co-creating something entirely new.

What would happen if we gathered a bunch of talented, driven people in one room and made space for the creative process? What if there were no limits and no endpoint? What kinds of ideas, dreams, and opportunities would emerge?

Our first project was a marketing campaign for a nonprofit organization from Norway. As we pulled a small team together, we started to dream about all the ways we could contribute to a better world. In the process, we realized our driving purpose: we wanted to impact our community by engaging with fellow dreamers to make big things happen. This was intentionally open-ended. It would be the creativity of the community that would drive the shape and direction of those “big things.”

But first, we had to figure out a name. As we brainstormed, someone wrote down, “What is our moniker?” And it stuck. That one simple word, a word that serves as a placeholder to generate further conversation, became the core of what our company is all about.

Our name showcases who we are – our business holds space for creativity to manifest and opportunities to unfold, unconfined by any one product, idea, or industry. As a placeholder, our name allows our business to be shaped by the people who are a part of it. It reminds us to push into possibility and to let creativity lead because creativity cannot be prescribed.

We love that Moniker doesn’t fit into a traditional business model because it gives us the chance to be anything. It allows us to partner with extraordinary individuals who share our vision and pursue new ventures. We get to empower our community to achieve their dreams while challenging the typical boundaries of business. We get to prove that you can build a business with possibility and people at the core. And if you can dream it, you can do it — with a lot of hustle and hard work.
